Episode #102: New Orleans
The third New Orleans episode of Star Time shoots for that elusive Mardi Gras combination of musical pedigree, roots revivalism, rhythmic release, and trying to cross Bourbon Street without throwing up all over your harlequin costume. I figure we've accomplished at least three of those. This year we focus on music between 1955 and 1970, and some of the less familiar limelights in the blazing spectrum of Crescent City music. Here's hoping you enjoy this mix and discover who your cousins are before the situation gets too out of hand.
