Episode #39: Don't Mess With My Lovemaker

When is a bowling ball more than just a bowling ball? When it's made by Brunswick, the company that also brought you some of the highest-quality toilets of the 20th century. Brunswick also, improbably, had a record label that consistently released some great R&B and soul singles in their time. The second half of this episode features some of the best sides Brunswick put out in the '60s and '70s, from Jackie Wilson to the Chi-Lites. Before that, though, we have a strict beef-stew diet, mixed sports metaphors, Sly's little sister, and food-related labor strife in the greater NYC area. This show strikes hard and often with charm to spare, so don't split before you hear it. (Bowling pun quota reached, suckers.)
