Episode #19: You Better Think
This episode devoted to protest soul of the '60s and '70s was coincidentally completed about a week before the Trump/Comey/Flynn/whoyagot crisis that mushroomed during the week of May 15. Or, rather, sort of coincidentally, as we don't seem to have had a break to catch our breath from this messed-up news cycle since the beauty pageant producer/street-meat hustler took office in January. But originally, the motives behind this episode were strictly pure and presentational. Well, okay, maybe not for Set 3. But the other sets, definitely.
Lots of great music in this show. I was especially moved by the songs from Delia Gartrell, Gil Scott-Heron & Brian Jackson, Nina Simone and Syl Johnson. There's a couple of standards here as well.
